When in Seattle...

Namaste Y'all!

I (Ess) recently took a quick trip to Seattle for the weekend. I completely fell in love with the city and thought I would share what I did with all of you! Me and my cousin decided to get City Passes so we could see a lot of the main attractions while saving a little money.

Our flight landed in Seattle on Friday evening and I thought it would be cool to visit the space needle at night so we could see the city with all its lights. But I was so excited that I forgot my camera :( I took a few photos with my phone but it did no justice to the beauty of the city at night.

Saturday was the only full day we had to explore the city so we got an early start to the day. We started the day by visiting Pikes Place Market which is a huge farmers market that is especially busy on the weekends. The market wasn't even fully open when we got there so we explored the area and got breakfast at a Filipino/American restaurant called Ludi's.

After breakfast we came back and explored the market some more while we enjoyed some delicious organic hot apple cider. We also saw the very first Starbucks!

We then went to the Aquarium and took a cruise that highlighted the city as parts of our City pass. The Seattle aquarium is very neat and eco-friendly because it showcases mostly animals that are local.

Next, we got some lunch, ice cream, and stopped by the infamous Gum wall. For lunch we went to a place right on the pier called Fishermans Restaurant. I got a bread bowl with clam chowder which was AMAZING! The seafood in Seattle is just so fresh and delicious- Definitely a must to try :) I also got a Seattle-fied version of the long island iced tea, "The Emerald city long island iced tea". Right outside of the restaurant there was a local, homemade ice cream shop. We just couldn't resist the smell of homemade waffle cones :)

The last City Pass stop we made was to the Chihuly Garden and Glass. All of the exhibits were so different from the last and so stunning. It was probably my favorite thing we saw in our trip. Highly HIGHLY recommend visiting!

After exploring the city we decided to head out for dinner at Umi Sake House. After about a 45 minute wait we were finally seated and had literally the best sushi of my life. Again, Seattle seafood is a MUST! The fish was so fresh and different from anything I've ever tried back home in Texas. This experience was well worth the wait!

For appetizers we got a really cool dish called crispy prawns, oyster shooters, and I tried uni for the first time! Then we had a bunch of sashimi including a salmon sampler, tuna, and some yellowtail.

Finally, for dessert we got a souffle cheesecake and a scoop of black sesame ice cream. There wasn't a single item from this dinner that I didn't like!

On Sunday we had a pretty early flight so we packed up, grabbed lunch and headed to the airport. We went to a super cool dumpling place but I again didn't have my camera because I already packed it up!

This was my first trip as a "blogger" and I tried to do my best to document and share it with all of you! Hope you enjoy this travel blog and check out some of these places if you're ever in Seattle :)
