Valentines day is right around the corner and we're sure everyone is scrambling to make plans for this special occasion. One of the best Valentine date ideas include a special home cooked meal for your loved one. So we thought we would share a simple yet delicious meal for you all to try with your loved ones for this valentines day or any date night :)
The menu we came up with was a vegetable stir fry, honey-soy glazed salmon, and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. Super simple but pretty darn delicious! (And it looks like you spent a whole lot of time cooking it up but nope just an hour!) Lets jump right into the recipes, shall we?
Honey and Soy glazed Salmon
Ingredients:

So we thought we would share a simple yet delicious meal for you all to try with your loved ones for this valentines day or any date night :)
The menu we came up with was a vegetable stir fry, honey-soy glazed salmon, and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. Super simple but pretty darn delicious! (And it looks like you spent a whole lot of time cooking it up but nope just an hour!) Lets jump right into the recipes, shall we?
Honey and Soy glazed Salmon
Ingredients:
- 3/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 inch ginger (peeled and minced)
- Juice of half a lemon
- crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 lb salmon fillet
- 1tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Procedure:
1. mix all of the ingredients except for the salmon in a shallow dish.
2. lay salmon in dish and cover well with marinade mixture
3. let salmon marinade for at least 10 minutes up to 1 hour (The longer the better).
4. put sesame and olive oil in a pan, add salmon skin side down and cook for 7-12 minutes, adding extra marinade 2-3 times.
5. after the salmon cooks 3/4 of the way, flip onto the other side and cook for 1 minute and turn off the heat.
Vegetable Stir fry
Ingredients
- Unused marinade from salmon
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 inch piece ginger (minced)
- 1/2 red onion, sliced long
- 1/2 container sliced button mushrooms
- 1 container of sliced carrot, broccoli, and snap pea mix
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon corn starch
Procedure:
1. Add both oils to pan and let heat up
2. Once pan is heated, add onion, garlic, and ginger and cook for 2 minutes
3. Add rest of vegetables and let cook for 5-7 minutes
4. Mix corn starch with unused marinade and pour on top of vegetables
5. Add more seasoning if needed
Dessert! Chocolate covered strawberries
Ingredients
- 1/2 container Dolci frutta hard chocolate shell
- 1/2 container Dolci frutta white chocolate shell
- 1 pound box strawberries
Procedure:
1. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper
2. Melt chocolate in microwave safe containers in 30 second increments (according to instructions on container)
3. dip strawberries in chocolate and lay on wax paper
4. allow to harden and enjoy :)
