Summer Capsule!
12:54:00 PMNamaste Yall!
We recently decided to try out the whole capsule wardrobe idea. We both have a slight (huge) shopping addiction so we tend to buy a lot of clothes, accessories, shoes, etc that we probably wear only once or even not at all. Even with all those clothes in our closets, we still decide to wear the same pair of jeans and a mix of the same old ratty t-shirts. This is why we decided to create wardrobe capsules to clean out our closets and keep a limited selection of comfortable yet stylish pieces that will help us utilize the items we like most and help us build a minimalistic wardrobe. We will also be sharing a closet in the fall once school starts again so this is a good trial run for us to pick a few options to avoid clutter in our shared closet. Cee came up with a wardrobe for the summer to get a good feel of what exactly the capsule style wardrobe is like and if it is a feasible thing to maintain. We feel that this will also help us narrow down our style and let us cherish the clothes that we buy. ( Hopefully it'll also save us some money!)
We were inspired by various other bloggers who did a super great job describing what a capsule wardrobe is and how to create one. I will link a couple of helpful ones below. Cee's capsule consists of 9 different tops, 5 bottoms, and 4 pairs of shoes. I have 2 bags that I'm not counting in the total of a 17 piece wardrobe. (sorry, we forgot to take a picture of the shoes. But I have my Addidas superstars, a pair of sandals, my Nike tennis shoes and a pair of black wedges).
Here are some links we found helpful when planning our capsules:
